Last month, the issue of encroachment and Dissoi valley made into headlines after suspected Nagaland-based miscreants opened fire at state MLA Rupjyoti Kurmi and a team who were visiting Assam Nagaland borders in Jorhat district.
Followed by the incident Assam chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma later informed that Nagaland CM Neiphiu Rio has written a letter to him addressing the issue of alleged firing at Kurmi.
Sarma further added that Border Area Development Minister Atul Bora has been in touch with Nagaland officials to ensure that the “situation does not go out of control.”
