GUWAHATI: The Assam state police released a short video on Twitter to raise awareness in a humorous and thoughtful manner about the COVID-19 virus and to fight against the deadly virus.

They used animation to show how people's careless behaviour and a single mistake can cost the game. It shows how the virus that causes the disease spreads primarily from person to person, and the various ways in which this can occur. And how can people win the battle against the COVID -19 following some simple steps of caution.

The Assam police urged people to wear masks properly maintain social distance, wash/sanitize hands regularly and follow COVID appropriate behaviour.

Releasing the video Assam police wrote on Twitter, "One silly mistake could cost you the game, but following just a few simple steps of caution could make you the winner."

The idea is that these messages should hit the maximum number of people as posts and videos on the internet help to spread safety messages to large number of people.

Assam in the past 24 hours reported this year’s highest single-day spike of 5,803 new cases, pushing the tally to 2.98 lakh.

On the other hand, the state recorded single-day highest of 77 COVID-19 deaths, taking the death toll in the state to 1,753.

The current death rate in the state is 0.59 per cent.

Assam currently has 37,500 active COVID-19 cases.
