A team of Assam police led by Special Director General of Police (DGP) GP Singh have reached the Lailapur Police Petrol Post Station on Thursday.

GUWAHATI: A team of Assam police led by Special Director General of Police (DGP) GP Singh have reached the Lailapur Police Petrol Post Station on Thursday.

Singh is accompanied by Cabinet Minister Ashok Singhal and Parimal Suklabaidya.

They team had a security review meeting with Cachar SP Ramandeep Kaur . DIG Debojyoti Mukherjee was also present in the meeting.

On Wednesday, Singh informed that the team including officers of CID will be leaving for Delhi "to take lawful action relating to conspiracy behind the incident in light of media interview of Rajya Sabha MP Sri K Vanlalvena indicative of his active role in conspiracy".

"Assam Police has prepared a picture gallery which is being further updated of Mizoram Police personnel and civilian miscreants who fired at @assampolice on July 26th. They would be brought to law," he said in another Twitter post.

"Assam police also announces a reward of INR 5 lacs for information leading to arrest of each of the individuals involved in the barbaric killing of the Assam Police personnel on July 26th 2021," he tweeted.

The special DGP had informed that the incident took place at the Inner Line Reserve Forest area of Cachar district.

A case was filed in Dholai police station in this regard on July 27, he said.
