KOKRAJHAR: Ahead of the By-polls, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma announced that 1 lakh students from humble backgrounds will given government jobs within one year in Gossaigaon constituency.
He further stated that additional 10,000 families will be added under Orunudoi scheme in the Gossaigaon consituency on Saturday.
"We will include 10K more families under Orunodoi scheme in Gossaigaon constituency. To augment health facilities in the area, infrastructure of Tamarhat MPHC will be upgraded. The problem of erosion in Tamarhat will also be addressed in a scientific way", said Sarma addressing the people in Gossaigaon.
He stated that whether it is pension or schemes like Orunudoi, the amount is now deposited on the 10th of every month.
During his speech, the Chief Minister also expressed elation to see people putting faith in the ruling party of the state within just 5 months.
Speaking further he said that the poor need not fear now as the 'dalals' will be in jail and everything will be carried out bribes.

He assured the people of the constituency that the electricity connection in the area will be improved.
Along with announcing several benefits, the Chief Minister also announced that that one new government science college will be set up in the constituency for a brighter future of the students.
"The roads inside the villages are not in good condition. Therefore... whatever money is required, we will pay and revamp the roads", he said.
Taking a jibe at the opposition and the other parties, Sarma said, "We will have to tie up the 'lock and key', 'nangal' and the 'hand' and throw it in Gangadhar. If you have to come then come after 2026 but not now".
The Chief Minister further urged the crowd to ask the ones those who didn't vote and ask if they want progress or not. "If yes then they must vote for the tractor", he added.
"We will increase the number of Orunodoi beneficiaries from existing 17K to 27K in Gossaigaon. The erosion prevention procedure of Sonkosh river at Jamduar will start from November. A 30-bed hospital will be constructed in Kashiabari", he added.
