GUWAHATI: At a party event in the state capital today, the Congress party announced it will launch four bus yatras across the state for the forthcoming assembly elections.

To be called ‘Axom Basaon Ahok’, the bus yatra campaign will criss-cross the state for two weeks, meeting voters and discussing their grievances and issues.

“With these bus yatras, the top leadership of the party shall fan out into the remotest corners of the state and discuss with the people the state’s issues and problems,” said Pradyut Bordoloi, chairperson of the party’s campaign committee.

One yatra each shall be led by Pradyut Bordoloi, Gaurav Gogoi, Debabrata Saikia and Sushmita Dev.

Bordoloi’s yatra shall begin from at 10 am on Friday 12th February from Bordua Satra, the birthplace of Srimant Sankardev that falls under Batadraba Assembly constituency of Nagaon district.
