Assam polls: Income tax dept sets up control room to curb use of 'black money'

GUWAHATI: Towards curbing the use of black money for electoral purposes and prevent monetary inducement by any person(s) or parties in the upcoming general election to the legislative assembly of Assam, 2021, the investigation wing of the income-tax department, Guwahati has set up a control room on 24X7 basis till 06.04.2021 at Guwahati.

 

Any complaint regarding movement of cash and valuables can be shared by the vigilant citizens by contacting the number(s) mentioned below.

 

All the citizens are requested to make use of the facility and contribute towards ensuring free and fair election.

On Friday last, the Election Commission of India announced that Assam will go to Assembly elections in three phases beginning March 27.

 

The counting of votes will take place on May 2.
