GUWAHATI: 'Raijor Dal', the newly-floated political party, with the Citizenship (Amendment) Act as its major poll plank, will contest in 18 Constituencies "to rid the Assam of the BJP."
Bhasco de Saikia said that the party has decided to contest in a lesser number of Seats to help the cause of the 'anti-BJP' parties.
"We do not want the anti-BJP votes to be divided. Therefore, we want to contest wherever there is a sure shot chance of a win. We want an anti-BJP government and an anti-CAA government in Dispur, which is why we are leaving other seats out of 86 in two phases," Saikia said.
Stating that 'Raijor Dal' victories are confirmed in the 18 Constituencies, Saikia went on to claim that the ruling BJP-led alliance will be pushed down to the third position once the election is over.
