Guwahati, May 26, 2019:

A public service program called 'Jan Ahar' (food for all) has been launched by some generous people of Tinsukia district in Assam. The program was first launched in the city of Tinsukia today.

The program was organized in front of the Shankar Glass House located on GNB Road, in which the MLA of Tinsukia, Sanjay Kesan, also ate with the public.

As per this public service program, food is being provided to the needy for a mere 10 rupees. The organizers plan to hold this program every Sunday at a fixed location in Tinsukia city.

According to the organizers, efforts are also being made to make this program bigger in the future.

The organizers also urged all social workers to cooperate with the founders of this program and said that if all cooperation is received, this public service will be done daily for the poor and needy people.

An organizer said that the program was started because a lot of people come to the city from far-flung areas and are unable to find proper hygienic food.

"8-9-10 of us have decided to help these people, so we opened this service. We would like to thank Tinsukia MLA Sanjay Kesan for his cooperation...we fed 500 people today. We want to continue this program every single day and we will provide enough food to fill the belly for Rupees ten only. At the very least, we will organize this program on Sundays in front of the Shankar Glass House located on GNB Road", he said.

Many people were seen diving into a sumptuous Indian feast comprising of rice, dal, sabzi, et al.
