Pro-talks United Liberation Front of Axom-Independent (ULFA-I) leader, Jiten Dutta, has been sent to Tinsukia District Jail from Digboi, on Monday, reports said.
Jiten Dutta was arrested from Digboi in relation to an arson case of the RSS office in Margherita, during the protests against the Citizenship (Amendment) Act in the region.

According to sources, a delegation of the Special Branch of Guwahati visited Margherita Police station and interrogated the pro-talks ULFA leader for close to 4 hours.
After the interrogation, he was presented at Margherita SDJM court, from where he was sent to Tinsukia District Jail.
A case has been registered at Margherita Police station - 374/19 US 120(B), 121,147,148,149,353,354, 427,435 IPC.
It is being speculated that Jiten Dutta had asked the people of Assam to continue their protests against the contentious Citizenship (Amendment) Bill-turned-Act until it is scrapped down by the government. Moreover, a video in which Dutta was seen saying that Assam must cease sending her resources to Delhi, was widely circulated on social media, amid the furor over the CAA.
