Assam: Promod Boro alleges Rs. 3000 cr corruption in BTC during Hagrama's rulecorruption

Kokrajhar: United People Party Liberal (UPPL) president Pramod Boro alleged that around Rs. 3000 crore corruption was perpetrated in BTC administration in the last 15 years in all departments.

Notably, around 1,000 new members from different parties such as the BPF and Congress joined the UPPL party at meeting held at Bhotgaon under Fakiragram constituency in Kokrajhar district today. These workers were welcomed by UPPL Chief Pramod Boro.

Boro, opening up ahead of the elections, alleged that BPF chief Hagrama Mohilary is a "corrupt merchant" and has carried out corruption and anomalies during the entirety of his rule. Because of the corruption, common masses have been deprived of getting due development and welfare aspects in four districts of the BTC, said Boro.

Batting for a "violence free society" and "healthy integration" in the region, Boro said that Mohilary and his company failed to work for the welfare and development in the region, and added that the people in the BTC region are now seeking a change.

Boro further added that the UPPL party will be winning an 'absolute majority' in the ensuing BTC elections and forming the next BTC administration for "good governance" in the region.

He said the BTC election should be conducted with tight security deployment with "free and fair" environment. He has also appealed the state government and election commission to conduct the BTC council election by maintaining COVID-19 protocol. The Council elections were delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. They are expected to be held in the first half of November.
