Talking on the lines of the peace pact to Inside Northeast, the social activist said that the pact has been hailed by many as a harbinger of peace to the BTAD region, but only time will tell if peace will truly reign in the volatile area. "The pact was hailed as a peace pact...the Government received pats on the back for its involvement, and the residents of the Bodo-dominated region exulted in celebrations, but only time will tell if peace will become an actual reality in the troubled parts..."
Lamenting the re-imprisonment of NDFB President and founder Ranjan Daimary, her brother, Anjali opined that his recent incarceration will be serve as a hindrance in the peace process. "He was let out from jail by the Government...we had no say in the matter. Now, he has been sent back. This will no doubt hinder the road towards peace..." She further alleged that the re-imprisonment of the NDFB leader is a "dishonor" to the peace accord that was signed on January 27.

It may be mentioned here that Anjali Daimary, who is the Boro Women's Justice Forum president, has long urged the Government to solve the problem of insurgency in the Bodo-dominated region in Assam and advocated for a separate state Bodoland.
