ASSAM: RAPE CASES SHOULD BE HANDED OVER TO CBI AND NIA: MP RP SHARMA

Bharatiya Janata Party Member of Parliament from Tezpur RP Sharma has said that the ever-rising rape cases should be handed over to the top investigation agencies of India like the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and the National Investigation Agency (NIA). Sharma had also called for a public execution of the accused in the Unnao gang rape case that involves BJP MLA Kuldeep Singh Sengar.

The MP said that the trial of a rapist should be completed within three months in a fast-track court, and the police should file a chargesheet within 15 days.

It may be mentioned that the Union Women and Child Development Minister Maneka Gandhi had to written to the CMs and urged them to set up special cells to deal with sexual offences.
