Tea production in Assam reached an all-time high in 2019 with a total of 715.79 million kilos, thereby bringing good news for tea producers in the state.
According to the latest data on India’s tea production has revealed that Assam produced 51.5 percent of India’s total tea produced in 2019.

Assam has retained its tag as “tea state of the country” by climbing up the scale and increasing its production by 23.88 million in 2019 as compared to year 2018.
Of the 715.79 million kilos, Assam Valley produced 670.78 and Cachar produced 45.01 million kilos of tea.

It may be mentioned here that other states producing tea accounted for a total of 424.06 in West Bengal, Tamil Nadu produced 155.37 million kilos, Kerala 59.05 million kilos, Karnataka 4. 62 million kilos of tea.
