Assam records 16 more COVID-19 deaths taking the tally to 578

Assam recorded 2640 fresh COVID-19 cases out of 35603 tests. While Kamrup (Metro) accounted for most of these cases, Jorhat, Lakhimpur and Golaghat also posted positive cases. The positivity rate in the state stands at 7.42 percent.

The cumulative infected tally, with these new infections, soars to 159320. The state has, however, witnessed 129130 recoveries. COVID-19 pandemic continues to claim lives of the people of Assam. On Monday, the state lost another 16 more people due to the disease. These 16 deaths took the cumulative death tally of Assam to 578.
