Assam recorded 17 COVID-19 related deaths on Thursday taking the state’s death tally to 528.
Assam Health & Family Welfare minister Himanta Biswa Sarma tweeted, “Very sad & anguished to inform that 17 more COVID19 positive patients have succumbed to the disease”.
Out of the 17 Kamrup reported five deaths, followed by three deaths in Sonitpur, two deaths each in Kamrup (Metro) and Baksa, one death each in Dibrugarh, Darrang, Cachar, Tinsukia, and Dhubri.

The deceased are Sukheswar Gogoi of Dibrugarh, Bhadreswar Das of Sonitpur, Mahidhar Koch of Sonitpur, Jagat Ch Borah of Kamrup (Metro), Pabindra Nath Sarma of Darrang, Hafizur Hague of Dhubri, Ratneswar Medhi of Kamrup (Metro), Tarun Borah of Sonitpur, Dineswar Deka of Kamrup, Ramkali Devi of Tinsukia, Dhirendra Kr Sinha of Cachar, Poonam Kumari Prasad of Kamrup, Chitra Das of Baksa, Manju Hmatsingka of Kamrup, Naren Ch Das of Kamrup, Sukanta Roy of Kamrup and Kanak Chandra Deori of Baksa.
