Assam reports 33 fresh COVID-19 cases

GUWAHATI: Taking the tally in the state to 2,17,872, Assam has reported as many as 33 fresh COVId-19 cases yesterday, said the National Health Mission (NHM).

 

However, the death toll remained at 1,099 because no new infection-related deaths were recorded during the day.

 

Meanwhile, 10,143 people received the second dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, taking the total number of people who have received the vaccine to 5,86,518.

 

According to reports, the first dose of vaccine was given to 623 people with comorbidities, 4,012 senior citizens, and 3,993 health and frontline staff during the day.

Jorhat district reported 15 new cases, with Kamrup metropolitan having ten.

 

With a positivity rate of 0.25 percent, the new cases were detected from 13,204 tests conducted during the day.

 

The state's fatality rate is 0.50 percent, with 1,347 COVID positive patients died for other reasons.

 

There are currently 280 active cases in the state, with 2,15,146 people recovering from the disease and three people migrating to other states.

 

The state has conducted 70,62,543 sample tests for COVID-19.
