Assam reports 63 COVID-19 deaths, 5347 new cases in 24 hours

GUWAHATI: Assam in the past 24 hours recorded 63 more deaths related to COVID-19 taking the death toll to  2123.

On the other hand, the state reported 5,347 fresh cases pushing the tally to 3,24,979.

Of the total new fatalities, Kamrup (Metro) alone reported the highest number of 21 deaths, followed by Dibrugarh (5), among other districts.

Meanwhile, out of the total new cases, 1,012 were reported from Kamrup Metro, 424 in Kamrup Rural, 345 in Nagaon, and 291 in Sonitpur.

Assam currently has 44,008 active  COVID-19 cases, while a total of 2,77,501 people have recovered from the disease so far.

A total of 94,49,818 samples for COVID-19 have been tested so far and 33,61,495 people have been vaccinated in the state.
