Assam: Sawmill busted in Chirang as timber logs seized

While citizens in the country are busy in combating the COVID-19, deforestation activities like tree cutting, timber smuggling, and illegal sawmill erecting are seeing increase day by day in BTAD's Chirang and Kokrajhar districts, Assam.

In the last week of May, forest department, SSB jawans from Saralpara in Kokrajhar district seized three ladden tractor and bullock carts at Ultapani forest area in which valuable Sal timbers were carried out by smugglers
