The Assam government on Saturday ordered reopening of schools from September 21 for classes 9, 10, 11 and 12 students with written permission from their guardians.
Assam Health & Family Welfare minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said that schools will be reopened informally from September 21. The students of 9, 10, 11 and 12 standards will attend schools with written permission from their parents. There will be 50 per cent attendance of the teachers.

Sarma stated that COVID-19 testing will be done for students and teachers. Deputy commissioner (DC) will take further decisions if a large number of cases are detected from a particular school.
