Assam: Scribes face tough time

A section of journalists faced a harrowing time at Office of the State Coordinator for NRC Assam in Guwahati as they were denied entry to the venue of the press conference that was scheduled to be addressed by Registrar General of India Sailesh and State Coordinator for Assam Prateek Hajela on Monday morning.

Despite reaching the venue well before the scheduled time and their names appearing in the media list prepared by DIPR, the journalists, which included a few well-known and senior scribes too, were denied entry for about one hour without any apparent reason.

The scribes then called up Director General of Police Kuladhar Saikia, subsequently which they were allowed inside the venue.
