Assam: Sensational Murder in Digboi Sends Shockwaves Across Town

Digboi, August 3, 2019:

Tension prevailed at the 'Oil Town' Digboi, Assam, on Friday midnight when unidentified person killed a local by slitting his neck at Uvatajan at Bogapani under the Digboi police station of Tinsukia District.

According to sources, the victim, Budhua Birsa, was going to his house by from his place of employment when unidentified persons grabbed a hold of him and killed him by slitting his throat. Investigation has revealed that the man died at the spot.

The deceased Budhua Birsa was a resident of Uvatajan Bogapani under the Digboi police station.

The Digboi police came and recovered the dead body and sent it for post mortem. No one has been arrested till the filing of this report.

Two days ago another murder incident was reported from Natun line Powai Tea Estate under Digboi police station where Nirmal Das Kalandi, a BJP youth leader and Secretary of BCMS Margherita branch and his brother Parimal Das Kalandi, intentionally killed one Munglu Tanti. Tanti's corpse was recovered on the railway tracks in Margherita town.

Local residents said that on Tuesday evening Nirmal Das Kalandi and his brother Parimal Das Kalandi brutally beat Munglu Tanti and his body was discovered later.
