Assam singer Parbin Pori dies of COVID-19

GUWAHATI: Leading Assamese singer Parbin Pori succumbed to the deadly COVID-19 at a private hospital in Guwahati this morning.

She was undergoing treatment at Neurological Research Centre (GNRC) Hospital, Guwahati.

Parbin had tested positive for the deadly infection two days ago.

Parbin Pori's father also lost the battle against COVID-19 two days before her death.

The cultural community has expressed profound sadness over the talented singer's untimely demise.

Parbin recently held a Bihu programme in Guwahati.

Recently, Assam's cultural arena lost two more veteran singers due to COVID-19-- Bhitali Das and Bijaylakshmi Das.

It is learnt that the father of the singer is also currently undergoing treatment for COVID-19 related complications.
