Guwahati, March 2, 2019:

In a major step to curb corruption, six fishery officials have been suspended by Fisheries Department on the charges of malpractices on Saturday.

In an order, the Department of Fisheries has taken serious actions against the officials who have been neglecting their duty and involving in various malpractices.

Accordingly, on the basis of the report from various entrusted enquiry officers, Director of Fisheries has placed under suspension the following field level officials under Rule 6 (1) of the Assam Service (Discipline and Appeal) Rules 1964 with immediate effect for their gross negligence of government duty and involvement in malpractices in distribution of inputs of beneficiaries under various schemes.

These officials are: Biswajit Kashyap- Fishery Demonstrator of Borchola Developmental Block in Sonitpur,  Rajen Das- Fishery Demonstrator of Goroimari Developmental Block in Kamrup, Debeswar Sonowal- Fishery Demonstrator of Dimoria Developmental Block in Kamrup, Pratul Das- Assistant Fishery Officer of Goalpara, Monuwar Hussain- Fishery Demonstrator of Bajaigaon Developmental Block in Nagaon and Abdul Barik- Fishery Demonstrator of Lawkhowa Developmental Block in Nagaon.
