Guwahati: At least six persons were injured in a bear attack which was reported from Assam's Chirang district.
The incident took place on Monday evening when six persons went to a bamboo garden to gather some canes. They were unaware of the danger that would follow once they entered the garden.
Before any of them could spot the bear, the bear spotted them and immediately attacked them. All of them were severely injured during the attack and only with the help of some locals, they managed to survive the attack.
The injured persons have been identified as Suniram Hasda, Ramesh Tudu, Suniram Mardi, Biswajit Mushahary, Safal Hembram and Bijoy Basumatary.
All the injured persons were shifted to the nearest medical facility. The bear on the other hand was captured by the forest department.
