A two-day skill conclave, which is part of the week-long celebration of World Youth Skills Day, began at Maniram Dewan Trade Centre in Guwahati on Monday.
The conclave includes a series of events such as skill exhibition, job fair, skill symposium and the ceremonial event to be graced by Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal.
The conclave provided a platform to all stakeholders in the skill eco-system to interact and exchange ideas for creating a more sustainable and effective environment which can harness the full potential of the youth.
The event witnessed the convergence of various missions and directorates such as Assam State Rural Livelihood Mission (ASRLM), Assam State Urban Livelihood Mission (ASULM), Directorate of Employment and Craftsmen Training (DECT), etc. implementing skill development schemes in the state.
The beginning of the conclave was marked by the inauguration of a job fair by Commissioner and Secretary, SEED, Government of Assam Ashutosh Agnihotri.
On Monday, a skill symposium was organised as a part of the skill conclave where panel discussions were held. The discussions were chaired by veterans of the skilling universe such as CEOs of different sector skill councils, representatives of National Skill Development Council, mission directors of State Skill Development Missions etc.
