Tamulpur, May 15, 2019:

Overcoming all odds, a cycle repairer’s son has managed to shine bright in the HSLC 10th board examinations conducted by the Board of Secondary Education (SEBA) which was declared on Wednesday.

Dhananjay Das of the Khairani High School has scored 83% in the board exams. Dhananjay hails from Abhayapur of Baksa district in Assam and his father, Sukumar Das is a cycle repairer at the Abhayapur market.

Despite economic drawbacks, the student has made efforts to score such a good percentage. Looking at the situation of the family and Dhananjay’s enthusiasm, Asha Darshan Trust’s superintendent, Biju Borbaruah has come ahead to help him for his further studies.

Talking to media persons, Dhananjay has expressed his wish to become a doctor in the future.

Similarly, Bishnujyoti Jatiya Vidyalaya student Nayan Moni Barman has managed to score 91.66% who also belongs to an economically backward family hailing from Tamulpur.

Nayan scored a total of 550 marks out 600.

Nayan’s father, Amarendra Barman is a tempo driver who drives the school children to the school where Nayan studies. He has expressed a desire to be an engineer in the near future and showed eagerness to take admission in the Science stream.

However, the poor economic condition of the household has become a hindrance to the student’s aim and thus his father urged for some financial aid for Nayan’s further studies.

Another student from Tamulpur, Daisy Goswami who is the daughter of an employee who does not earn a penny from his work has managed to score 85.66%. She scored a total of 514 marks out of 600. She expressed her desire to take admission in the Science stream, however, due to financial constraints, the family might not be unable to fulfill her wish.

I think we should laud these young achievers who have performed exceptionally despite many economic constraints which also tends to have an impact on the child's psyche.
