ASSAM: SONOWAL ANNOUNCES RS.50 LAKH FOR HIMA

After winning a gold medal in 400-mtr race at the IAAF World U-20 Championships in Finland, it is time for Assam’s new sensation Hima Das to become cash rich.

Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal on Saturday said the state government would offer her Rs.50 lakh as a reward. Earlier, former Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi had announced Rs.1 lakh for her from a trust that is run in the name of his parents and the Assam Athletic Association and the Assam Olympic Association announced Rs.2 lakh each. Former Minister Gautam Roy also announced Rs.1 lakh.
