Assam: Sub-inspector Apprehended for Taking Bribe

December 16, Guwahati:

A sub-inspector Panbendra Das, who was in charge of  Dhamdhoma OP under Ghoghrapara PS in Nalbari district has been caught red handed by the Assam Anti Corruption Bureau team led by while the SI was accepting a Bribe amount of Rs. 6,000/- from a complainant Hussain Ali.

The accused had demanded a bribe of Rs. 20000 for providing relaxation in an alleged matter of cross-case. The complainant had already paid the first instalment of Rs. 4,000 yesterday. The accused was taking another instalment when he has been caught. The accused has been arrested.

The complainant is the father of a recent rape victim, who is a minor. The accused in the rape case was arrested by district police and the family of the arrested accused in that matter had filed a cross case relating to some loan matter against the father of the rape victim.
