Assam Police personnel on January 11 apprehended a suspected cadre of the Muslim Fundamental Organization (MFO) in Kokrajhar district of Assam.
Based on a specific input received today at about 3 am about militant activity, a joint operation was launched by Kokrajhar Police, 166Bn TA and 25th Rajput Regiment in the Debottar Khopati part-II village which falls under Kazigaon Police Station in Kokrajhar district of Assam.

They had conducted search operation at the house of one Abdul Khaleqe Mandal, aged 22, who is suspected to be a cadre of the Muslim Fundamental Organization. At around 7 am, the joint operation team from his recovered and seized one 7.65 pistol 5 rounds of live ammunition, and a magazine from the suspected cadre. According to reports, several eyewitnesses were also present when the militant was nabbed by the security forces.
A case has been registered at the Kazigaon Police Station under the case no 01/2020 U/S 25 (1-A) Arms Act, and investigated into.
