BISWANATH: A team of Gingia police station and Biswanath Wildlife Division in a joint operation conducted on Sunday recovered a Tockay Gecko from Biswanath and arrested 3 three persons.
The Gingia police have also seized a white Scorpio bearing registration no- VLX (AS-15E- 5374).

Sharing the information Biswanath police wrote on Twitter, “Gingia PS & Biswanath Wildlife Division in a Joint ops, recovered 1 Tockay Gecko (Schedule I Species)-41cm length from 3 persons & seized a White Scorpio VLX (AS-15E- 5374). An Offence has been regd. under Wildlife Protection Act,1972. @assampolice @DGPAssamPolice @gpsinghassam.”
FIR has been registered against the three accused under the Wildlife Protection Act,1972.
The Wild Life Protection Act of 1972 is an Act of the Parliament of India enacted for the protection of plants and animal species.
