The Assam transport department has requested the All Assam Motor Transport Association (AAMTA) to call off their indefinite strike. Transport Minister has convened a meeting on the 6th of October to resolve the issue.
An official letter to the AAMTA by transport department, “I am directed to inform you that Hon’ble Minister of Transport has convened a meeting on 6th October, 2020 at 4:00 PM at Assam Administrative Staff College, Khanapara to discuss the various issues mentioned in your letter under reference. Therefore you are requested to attend the aforesaid meeting. Further it is requested that you may kindly call off the indefinite strike from 5th October 2020.”

It be mentioned that the All Assam Motor Transport Association (AAMTA) has called for an indefinite ‘Chakka Bandh’ from October 5 on various demands. The association has demanded to increase the bus fares in the wake of COVID-19 pandemic.
