HAFLONG: A truck met with an accident in the early hours of Wednesday in Dima Hasao district's headquarter Haflong. The truck veered off the road and collided with a roadside house, injuring a local resident, who has been taken to the hospital due to the serious nature of his injuries.
"On 23rd December 2020 morning at about 5.30 is one truck bearing registration number AS 09 AC 6398 carrying sand from Lumding for construction work of MAC quarter North Cachar Hills Autonomous council (NCHAC) got into an accident near the NCHAC staff quarters," an official said.

"As soon as the truck entered the quarter, it turned turtle due to slippage of the soil. It tumbled over and fell in the quarter, causing serious injuries to a man. One of his legs was badly damaged and the house has also been damaged. One of the wall of the house has been badly damaged," a local informed the media.
According to reports, a person named Raju Sunar was sleeping in his quarters which was struck by the truck, causing serious injuries to him.
The 36-year-old has been ferried to the Haflong Civil Hospital for treatment.
