ASSAM: TWO ASSAULTED BY MOB, THIS TIME IN KAMPUR

On 23rd June at around 9:30 pm some villagers of Zumurmur village under Kampur Police Station physically assaulted smti Devi Barua wife Atul Baruah of zumurmur village and Ubed ullah of Tubuki and confined them near the house of the victim alleging that they were having illicit relation. On being acquainted with the information at around 3:50 am on 24th June the kathiatoli OP staff rushed to the PO and recovered both the victim. They were provided medical treatment immediately. On the strength of the FIR lodged on 24th June, KAMPUR Police Station Case NO 158/18 U/S 147/342/325/307/354(B) IPC was registered and thoroughly investigated. Based on reliable information multiple raids were conducted and total 8 persons associated with the crime were picked up last night which includes 3 FIR named accused. They have been thoroughly interrogated and on finding enough evidence they have been arrested. The case is being supervised by senior officers and the situation is normal and being monitored.
