KARIMGANAJ: Two persons were killed in Assam's Karimganj district after a hand boat capsized during a storm yesterday evening.
The incident took place yesterday at Sonbeel lake in Karimganj at 4.30 pm.
The bodies of two persons including a minor who went missing following the boat capsize yesterday evening were recovered today at 11.15 am.
The bodies were recovered by a joint search and rescue operation by deep divers from Karimganj and Badarpur and SDRF team from Karimganj with a support crew from Fire and Emergency Services.

Karimganj Superintendent of Police, Mayank Kumar said its circumstances will be probed by the District Disaster Management Authority.
There were a total of five passengers on the boat, and out of the five passengers on the sailing boat, Nilesh Das, his son, 17-year-old Ajit Das, and 7-year-old Dhanu Das, son of Manoranjan Das have been rescued.
50-year-old Ujjala Das, wife of Amaresh Das, a resident of Kalyanpur village, and 10-year-old Hasi Das, daughter of Bishnupada Das, a resident of Santipur village died.
The bodies have been sent to the Silchar Medical College and Hospital for autopsy and later it will be handed over to the family members,” said Circle Officer Vanlal Nampui Biate.
