Assam: Two Muslim Fundamentalist Cadres Nabbed in Dhubri

Dhubri, March 21, 2020:

Two Muslim Fundamentalist Organisation (MFO) cadres have been arrested in Dhubri district of Assam on Saturday.

Troops of Army Camp, Panbari part of Red Horns Division and Dhubri Police on Saturday conducted a counter insurgency operation, wherein two MFO cadres were nabbed.

Led by District Superintendent of Police (DSP), Dhubri, Trinayan Bhuyan, the operation arrested Ramjan Ali and Nazrul Islam, who, according to the authorities belonged to Muslim Fundamentalist Organisation.

It may be mentioned here that the arrest has been viewed as a major setback in Dhubri. The Lower Assam district has, time and again, witnessed nefarious activities. The continued efforts of the Police have led to the curbing of extortion and weapons deal in Dhubri.

The team of Dhubri Police and Indian Army also recovered two pistols, magazine and ammunition. The cadres and recoveries have been handed over to the police for further investigation.
