ASSAM: TWO OFFICERS ARRESTED IN HAILAKANDI

Two social welfare officers abducted in graft case

Corruption in the state still continues. Two social welfare officers were arrested yesterday in Hailakandi. Ashraful Lahkar, CDPO and Junior Assistant Abdul Hannan were arrested yesterday by the Hailakandi police. They were abducted for illegally providing job to more than 14 Anganbari workers.

Sensing the danger of the on-going investigation, other two officers involved in the case managed to escape. The Police stated that they will tighten their interrogation.

The Police Officials of Hailakandi assured that every possible step will be undertaken to curb corruption
