Assam: ULFA (I) to extend ongoing unilateral ceasefire for 3 months

GUWAHATI: ULFA (I) United Liberation Front of Assam led by Paresh Barua announced to extend ongoing unilateral ceasefire for 3 months more.

ULFA a hardcore militant group banned since Nov 27, 1990 by GoI formed on 7 April, 1979 to with a aim liberarte Assam through arms struggle. More than 10000 people killed in the conflict so far.

ULFA had bases in Bhutan, Bangladesh, Myanmmar, Afganisthan, China & other countries as per IB reports.
