Ulfa on Monday expressed satisfaction at the publication of complete draft of National Register of Citizens (NRC).
In a statement, Ulfa chairman Arabinda Rajkhowa termed the publication as a “historic” occasion and lauded All Assam Students’ Union and Assam Public Works for putting their efforts in the process and thanked them.
He said the Ulfa was awaiting update of NRC during the past seven years of its peace process with the Government of India for hammering out a political solution.
Stating that the outfit had submitted a proposal to the Government of India for taking necessary steps to protect the interests of indigenous people of Assam, the Ulfa chairman called for public support to reach a logical conclusion in this regard.
