ASSAM: UNCERTAINTY OVER THE PUBLICATION OF NRC ON 30TH JUNENRC
The  confidence that I had four to five days back about 30th June, I don't have the same level of confidence today: Prateek Hajela
The incessant rains have drowned many areas in flood across the state causing havoc and disorderliness in the state. Such conditions ahead of the NRC publication has somewhat  derailed the process and this was confirmed by the State Coordinator of NRC in Assam,  Prateek Hajela
Speaking to Inside NE,  Hajela stated " I am not saying it will be delayed,  but my works have got affected adversely in Barak Valley particularly, for the last five days. We can handle a backlog of two to three days but five days is a bit too long for us to make up for the loss.  We are trying but the situation also doesn't seem to be improving, considering the fact that Barak Valley has lagged behind now. For us each and everyday is important as its a back to back,  cut to cut kind of a thing we are doing. The confidence that I had four to five days back,  I don't have the same level of confidence now. I am not saying it will be delayed,  but I am not sure of it due to the flood situation".
Thus it will be a fact to ponder over as to what response such a situation might garner as the entire state has been keenly awaiting for the publication of the same on 30th June.
