A woman in Garchuk area of Guwahati was recovered today in an unconscious state. Several injury marks were spotted on the body of the victim. It is suspected that the victim was raped and then thrown off to such a state

It is reported that the victim aged 28 hails from Golaghat. She had visited Guwahati and was staying in Basisthapur. Talking to INSIDENE, Ranjit Das, Officer In charge, Garchuk Police Station stated that the woman was recovered with injuries and might have been raped by miscreants before throwing her off. The victim is now undergoing treatment at the GMCH. He also stated that the victim is not in a condition to give any statement.
