Guwahati: Hundreds of people including film stars, singers, cultural activists, academics and Xatradhikars protested in Guwahati on Sunday, Under the Xocheton Nagarik Mancha joined a march to Rajiv Bhawan in Guwahati demanding the immediate release of the Editor-in-chief of Republic TV Arnab Goswami.
The symbolic protest is against the Indian National Congress (INC) in Maharashtra.
Informing about the protest, Assam health, finance and education minister Himanta Biswa Sarma. Tweeted, “#AssamWithArnab Hundreds of people led by filmstars, singers, cultural activists, acamedics and xatradhikars under Xocheton Nagarik Mancha joined a march to Rajiv Bhawan in Guwahati as symbolic protest against Indian National Congress in #Maharashtra. They demand immediate release of #ArnabGoswami.”
Goswami recently made some shocking revelations of being assaulted. The journalist informed that his life is being under threat as he was being shifted from the quarantine centre in Alibag to Taloja jail on Sunday after remaining in judicial custody for four days.
Reportedly, shifting the journalist to Taloja jail wasn’t intimated to Arnab Goswami’s lawyers.
The Bombay High Court on Saturday reserved its order on an interim bail plea of Republic TV Editor-in-Chief Arnab Goswami who was arrested in abetment of suicide case, without giving him any immediate relief.
