Assam youth killed, body dumped under a bridge in Nalbari

NALBARI: A body of a 20-year-old youth was discovered today under a bridge in Assam's Nalbari district under mysterious circumstances.

According to sources, the 20-year-old was killed and dumped in the water below the bridge in Balikuria village near Nalbari-Kaithalkuchi in Nalbari.

The deceased has been identified as Ruhul Aali, a resident of Jaybangla village in Nalbari district.

The body was first spotted by the locals today at around 6 am, but he was killed late Friday night, said, locals.

The locals immediately informed the Nalbari Police Station about the recovery of the body and further investigate the matter.

Ruhul's mother has accused a man from the same village, Narayan Barman alias Narad, of murdering her son.

Meanwhile, police have also reportedly suspected that the youth was strangled to death.

Superintendent of Police (SP), Nalbari Police Station Suleman Islam said, " On receiving information about the incident at around 8. 30 am our police team reached the spot for further investigation."

During the initial investigation, police have found rope prints around his neck, said Islam.

The investigation on the matter is underway and the body has been sent for a post mortem examination.
