GUWAHATI: The last rites of popular Assamese singer Vitali Das, who passed away yesterday following COVID-19 infection, were held at Navagraha crematorium here today, following all COVID protocols.
The rituals of the singer were performed by her daughter.
Among those bidding her a farewell were All Assam Students' Union chief adviser Samujjal Kr Bhattacharya and president Dipanka Kr Nath.
Vitali Das succumbed to COVID-19 at the Kalapahar COVID Hospital here.
She was admitted to the hospital on April 15 and was later shifted to the intensive care unit (ICU) after her condition turned critical.

The artiste was later shifted to mechanical ventilation at the hospital after she developed difficulties in breathing.
The singer had reportedly contracted the virus while performing at a Rongali Bihu function at the Judges Field here on April 14.
