DIBRUGARH: A COVID-19 positive woman gave birth to healthy twin babies conceived through IVF at the Assam Medical College and Hospital, Dibrugarh (AMCH).
Both babies are healthy and covid negative.
On Wednesday night, a Cesarean delivery was performed on a 35-week-pregnant hailing from Moran who had attained pregnancy by In Vitro Fertilisation (IVF) procedure.
She attained pregnancy by IVF in a private clinic and so it was a precious pregnancy.
The woman was admitted to a private hospital on May 19th night with some complications, where she was found to be COVID-19 positive, and so she was referred to AMCH.

A team of doctors from AMCH successfully performed an emergency caesarean section on her and delivered two babies, of 2.5 kg and 2 kg .
Both of the babies and the mother are fine and healthy now.

Both the babies tested class="css-901oao css-16my406 r-poiln3 r-bcqeeo r-qvutc0"> & are healthy."In the second wave of Covid19, thirty-four successful deliveries were made in Covid positive mothers in the months of April and May at the Assam Medical College and Hospital in Dibrugarh.
There were 20 cesarean deliveries and 14 vaginal deliveries among them.
