GUWAHATI: Assam’s Jorhat district has reported as many as eight fresh COVOD-19 cases over the past 24 hours.
With this, the COVID-19 caseload of the district rose to 12,353.
Although sources said five of the eight reported positive have received first shots of COVID-19 vaccines, Jorhat Medical College and Hospital authorities refused to confirm saying that they were not allowed to speak about COVID-19 patients' contract history.

Jorhat currently has 25 active COVID-19 cases, while 12,187 patients have been dischargedand seven migrated. The number of deaths in the district due to coronavirus disease stands at 69.
Currently, there are 269 active cases of COVID-19 in Assam. With this, the number of confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the state stands at 2,16,036. While 2,14,676 patients have recovered and over 1,091 have died till date. Three patients have migrated.
Meanwhile, 23,272 people received COVID-19 vaccine on Monday, bringing the cumulative figure of recipients to 5,68,176.
On Monday, the first dose of vaccine was administered to 1,173 patients with comorbidities, 8,466 senior citizens and 8,608 healthcare and frontline workers.
A total of 5,025 healthcare and frontline workers received the second dose of the vaccine.
So far, the cumulative number of beneficiaries and healthcare employees who have received the first dose of the vaccine in the state is 4,74,421 while 83,755 have received the second dose.
