Assam's Longest Flyover to be Built at Kaziranga

Guwahati, September 9, 2019:

Kaziranga National Park will get the longest flyover in Assam. If all goes according to plan, the Government of Assam intends to construct the longest flyover in the State in Kaziranga. Assam's Forest Minister of Parimal Suklabaidya has informed that the longest flyover of the state will be constructed at Kaziranga that will be 36 km long and 11 m wide.

A Detailed Project Report (DPR) will be prepared within November, and the construction of the 36 km long flyover will begin shortly thereafter.

The National Highway Authorities of India (NHAI) is preparing the DPR for the flyover, which will start from the Burhapahar area.

It has been reported that the National Green Tribunal, Forest Department and Central Government have consented to the construction of the bridge as well.

The Forest Minister of Assam has also stated that the bridge will be 'eco-friendly'.
