The GVK, EMRI on Thursday declared as illegal the ongoing protest by the employees of 102 and 108 ambulance services under the Essential Services Maintenance Act (ESMA).
Sanjay Kumar Jha, vice president of GVK, EMRI, said, “The management has fulfilled all the demands of the protesters. So, whatever they have alleged is not a matter of concern. Most members of employees’ association have not been working since September 4. The salaries of the employees were increased in 2014, 2015 and 2016. They were increased in 2018 too”.
The 108 employees threatened that they would resort to self-immolation if GVK, EMRI carries out a recruitment drive as advertised. They pointed out that the move would destroy the lives of 3,000 educated youth who are employed with 108 emergency services.
