The coming of Bihu (known as 'Bwisagu' among the Bodo community) has not slowed down the electioneering ahead of the Lok Sabha election in the Constituency (on 23 April). BTC Chief Hagrama Mohilary and Rajya Sabha MP Biswajit Daimary, among others, campaigned for the Bodo People's Front (BPF) candidate Pramila Rani Brahma in Fakiragram in Kokrajhar district.

Addressing the media here today, BTC Chief Hagrama said that the campaign has been going smoothly for the party and expressed confidence that the party candidate Pramila Rani Brahma would win by a comfortable margin.
Talking about the rival UPPL's pre-poll alliance with Badruddin Ajmal's AIUDF, he said: "Ajmal is supporting the UPPL in name only. But in truth, he is with the BPF."
Hagrama further stated that the BPF's biggest challenge in the forthcoming election will be from the NDFB (P) and ABSU (which are both backing the UPPL party).
The battle for the Kokrajhar Lok Sabha throne is headed for an exciting finish with BPF's Pramila Rani Brahma, UPPL's Urkhao Gwra Brahma, Congress' Sabda Ram Rabha and independent candidate (and sitting MP) Naba Sarania in the fray for the coveted seat.
