Guwahati, April 21, 2019:

Election watchdog Association for Democratic Reforms (ADR) has released the ‘financial, education, gender and other details’ of all 54 candidates who will be contesting from the four final Lok Sabha constituencies of Assam – Gauhati, Barpeta, Dhubri, and Kokrajhar – which will head to the polls on 23 April.

Finance:

As per the report, AIUDF Chief Badruddin Ajmal, who is contesting from Dhubri, has total assets worth Rs. 78,80,64,044 (78 crores+) but BJP’s Gauhati candidate Queen Oja is not too far behind as has declared assets worth Rs. 63,02,19,570 (63 crores+).

Independent candidate from Gauhati Constituency, Junmoni Devi Khaund, is not too far behind as she has declared assets worth Rs. 34,42,70,772 (34 crores+).

In contrast, Independent Dhubri candidate Uttam Kumar Ray is the ‘poorest candidate’ as he has declared assets worth Rs. 63,245 (63 thousand+).

The average of assets per candidate contesting in the Assam Lok Sabha Phase-III Elections is Rs. 4.26 crores.

Gauhati candidate Junmoni Devi Khaund tops the list in the liabilities department as he has liabilities worth Rs. The average of assets per candidate contesting in the Assam Lok Sabha Phase III Elections is Rs. 4.26 crores.
