Chants decrying the ‘Modi-sarkar’ (Modi Government) which the ‘Dal’ has usually put its support behind in the past, were also raised during the protests. Shouts of “Pakistan murdabad”, “jai Shri Ram”, and “Vande Mataram” rang loud and clear.
“Every year, jawans are martyred by jihadis. We are seeking an answer from the Government and we would also like to condemn them at this present moment. They speak of ‘surgical strikes’, yet we are yet to launch an attack (after the terror attack). Thus, we are here to stage a symbolic protest”, stated a member of the ‘Bajrang Dal’.
